Commercial Children’s Book Publisher Gives Janet Bohm Wheels

Traditional children’s book publisher Tate Publishing has picked up Janet Bohm’s book, What If My House Had Wheels. Janet Bohm previously decided to self publish with Trafford, an indie book publisher that also sold her books on Amazon. The story in verse is about a child imagining a house that will go anywhere. This book wasn’t first written for a commercial children’s book publisher. Janet Bohm chose Trafford on her initial run when she was still learning how to publish. Children’s book leader Tate Publishing picked up her book less than a year and a half later.

When looking for a children’s book publisher, write a book that is short but engaging. Book publishing is a tricky business but good writing and appealing ideas will get you noticed by any book publisher, whether indie or traditional. Janet Bohm has written her own success story as well as a book that succeeded with more than one children’s book publisher.

Self Publish Your Own Adventure: A Ride to Remember

When you write and self publish a book, you must have a story worth reading. Book publisher Trafford has just released Lillian Caton Major’s memoir, A Ride to Remember in the Alberta Rockies. New Westminster News Leader interviewed the self publishing author about her experiences on learning how to publish a book. A mother to four grown children, she wanted to self publish her account of a 10-day horseback trip over the Rockies with friends.

Deciding to self publish was a big step for an 86-year-old author, but the plucky Caton Major wasn’t any more discouraged by book publishing than by mountains. She found a book publisher, and her memoir is now at Black Bond Books in Royal City Centre, New Westminster, British Columbia.

Richard Alan - FEATURED AUTHOR

When Richard Alan looked into self publishing his book, he turned to one of the leading indie book publishers, Trafford Publishing. First Aid for the Betrayed is written around excerpts from Richard’s journal and interviews he conducted while looking into book publishing. After researching several publishing companies, Richard settled with one of the pioneering independent book publishers, Trafford. His research showed that Trafford provided the support and market placement options he needed.

Learning how to publish a book was a cathartic process for Richard. After Trafford, a standout among book publishers, released his book, he said that writing and self publishing the book was “first aid” for him too. He admits he never wanted money from his book, but just wanted to reach out. His book publishers helped him achieve that.
